Our History

Galilee Missionary Baptist Church was founded in 1947 by the late Rev. T. C. Swain and later reorganized under the leadership of Rev. A. J. Anthony. From humble beginnings in a home and tent, the church grew spiritually, numerically, and financially, eventually establishing its first permanent location on Tune Avenue in Dallas.

Throughout the decades, Galilee has been blessed with dedicated leadership and faithful servants who helped shape the church’s legacy. Pastoral leadership included Rev. E. A. Greer, Rev. Governor Thompson, Rev. L. T. Thompson, and Rev. W. C. Beene, who led the church to its Sunbeam location. The church later moved to its current campus on Vandervoort, where it continues to thrive.

Under the long and faithful leadership of Rev. L. R. Davis, Galilee experienced tremendous growth, including the construction of the current sanctuary, the establishment of scholarship programs, and the expansion of ministries serving youth, families, and the broader community. His legacy of service, education, and spiritual leadership continues to impact generations.

Following Rev. Davis’ retirement, the church continued its journey under faithful leadership, and today stands firmly positioned for continued growth and Kingdom impact.

Our Leadership

Galilee Missionary Baptist Church is currently led by Rev. Keith Hall, who serves as Pastor with a heart for Kingdom building, discipleship, and community outreach. Under his leadership, Galilee continues to move forward with vision, purpose, and a renewed commitment to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
